Yanpu

Yánpǔ (鹽埔) is a rural township in northwestern Pingtung. The name means “salt field”, said to derive from an early Qing transaction in which Quanzhou settlers traded ten cartloads of salt with the local Plains Indigenous community for the grassland that became the township.
