Yílán (宜蘭) is a county in northeastern Taiwan bordered by New Taipei in the north and Hualien in the south. It is an easy day trip from Taipei thanks to the relatively new Hsuehshan Tunnel, which cuts down travel time considerably. Attractions include the hot springs town of Jiaoxi, the night market in Luodong, the cold springs of Su’ao, and the history and black sand beaches in Toucheng, among other things.
