Sukhothai (สุโขทัย) is a province in lower northern Thailand, named after the ancient capital of the first Kingdom of Siam. The ruins of this 13th to 15th century kingdom are preserved as Sukhothai Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located about 12 kilometers from the modern provincial capital.
