Chiayi West

West District (西區) is the commercial heart of Chiayi City. The Chiayi Railway Station, dating back to 1933, serves as the terminal station for the Alishan Forest Railway. The surrounding streets were once dense with cinemas, including the Huanan Theater, demolished in 2024.
