Established in 1982, Xinrong Theater (新榮戲院) was the last second-run theater operating in Chiayi City when it closed its doors in September 2019. Initially it only had a single hall, but two more screens were added in the 1990s when the business was registered as Guangrong Theater (光榮戲院). After the site was purchased by the Chengyi Group (承億集團) it was demolished in September 2024 to make way for a residential tower, Xinrongxu (新榮序).
