A monument erected on March 31st, 1938 at the former Chiayi Slaughterhouse (嘉義屠宰場), now located within Beixianghu Park (北香湖公園) just off Wenhua Road in Chiayi City. The rear inscription credits Tainan Prefecture Governor Kawamura Naooka (川村直岡) among the donors. It is also known as the Old Zhuzao Animal Spirit Monument (舊豬灶獸魂碑). Over the decades a large banyan tree has partially engulfed the monument.
