Guīrén (歸仁), meaning “return to benevolence”, is a district in southern Tainan. The district underwent significant development in the early 21st century with the opening of Tainan HSR Station in 2007, transforming it into a major transportation hub, and the establishment of International Convention and Exhibition Center Tainan, positioning Guiren within one of southern Taiwan’s most dynamic industrial corridors. The Guiren Dunyuan Temple, a modest Confucian temple dating to the 1880s, reflects the district’s Qing dynasty heritage, and scattered traces of Japanese colonial rule can still be found around the hinterland.
