A set of 1940s warehouses next to the railway line at Hsinchu Railway Station, built late in the Japanese colonial era with wide column-free interiors. Their roofs were destroyed by bombing in World War 2 and repaired piecemeal afterwards, and in 1998 an elevated road cut what had been a single long row in two. They’ve been recognized for their heritage value and the easternmost set of warehouses are in use as the Hsinchu City Art Village (新竹市鐵道藝術村).
