Completed in 1925, this library continued to operate in the post-war era, but it was closed and auctioned off to Shin Kong Life Insurance in 1984. It was idle heading into the 2010s but after resolving a dispute between the city and the new owners the library was restored and opened to the public, now with a branch of Starbucks inside.
