A rare two-storey Japanese-style brick building, acquired in 1951 by the Central Bank of China as a residence and later occupied by its director. It is distinguished by stonewashed walls, round windows, projecting bay windows, and weatherboard gables, and is a rare sight in the central part of the city, where most such residences have long been knocked down and replaced by modern buildings. After a period of dereliction it was restored with private funding under the city’s Old House Cultural Movement (老房子文化運動) and now operates as the upscale restaurant CEO 1950.
