The former district office for Xinhua, built in 1934 on land donated by mayor Liang Dao (梁道) and completed a year later. It is the only surviving machiyakuba (街役場) south of Changhua. In 1999 the building faced demolition but was instead physically relocated to a nearby lot in May 2000, then moved back to its original site in March 2002. Now renovated into a restaurant and café, it sits next to the Yang Kui Literary Memorial Hall (楊逵文學紀念館).
