Tainan Spinning Houjia Mill (臺南紡織股份有限公司後甲廠) - Spectral Codex
臺南紡織股份有限公司後甲廠

The founding plant of Tainan Spinning (臺南紡織), built in 1955 in the Houjia (後甲) area of East District, Tainan, on a site that had served as a racecourse during the Japanese colonial era. It was the company’s first factory, predating the much larger Rende Mill to the south. Production ceased in 2001 when operations were off-shored to Vietnam. The entire compound was razed to the ground in the early 2010s and redeveloped into TS Department Store (南紡購物中心) and Shidai Park (時代公園). Only the original gatehouse remains, surrounded by a small fenced-off greenspace.
