Wujie (五結) is a suburban township adjacent to Luodong, historically significant for its extensive industrial development. The area was home to major industries including the Erjie Sugar Factory (1919–1943), Chung Hsing Paper Mill, grain processing facilities, and multiple brick factories along the riverside. Lizejian Old Street preserves the heritage of what was once the second most important port in Yilan County after Wushi until the arrival of the railway in nearby Luodong diminished its commercial significance. The township also features the now-derelict Lize Theater (est. 1964), which reflects the prosperity brought by this industrial development.
