The earliest Catholic church in the Tainan area, tracing its origins to Dominican missionaries who arrived in 1866. The current building was completed in 1925 after the previous church lost land to road construction during the Japanese colonial era. Despite its long history, the church is not eligible for heritage status due to repeated modifications over the years. Also known as Zhongshan Road Catholic Church (中山路天主堂).
