A Catholic church in Yujing dedicated to Our Lady, Cause of Our Joy (吾樂之緣聖母), originally established in 1959 by the Spanish Dominican priest Yuè Zhìyuān (岳峙淵). The current Chinese palace-style building was designed by engineer Fàn Jìmíng (范紀明) with a tower adapted from a Spanish bell tower into a Chinese pagoda form, and consecrated on September 8, 1962. It was designated the first official pilgrimage site of the Diocese of Tainan and, situated in the diocese’s only mountainous area, its highest church above sea level.
