Tainan Kailong Temple (四協境全臺首祀開隆宮) - Spectral Codex

Established in 1732, this is the oldest temple in Taiwan venerating Qixing Niangniang (七星娘娘), the Seven Star Goddess. It is widely renowned for its coming-of-age ceremony, in which 16 year-old girls are dressed in traditional attire and crawl beneath the sedan of the goddess as a blessing for smooth passage into adulthood. This festival is generally held on Qixi (七夕), also known as Chinese Valentine’s Day.
