Tainan Confucian Temple (臺南孔子廟)

Established in 1665 as the first center of traditional scholarship in Taiwan. It has been continually renovated and expanded over the years. Immediately to the east is Pangao Stone Archway (泮宮石坊), the former entrance to the temple, now preserved as the gate to Fuzhong Street (府中路). The entire site is a national monument. As of the mid-2020s an entrance fee is required to enter the temple grounds.
