A temple on Ziyou Road (自由路) in East Taichung dedicated to Guangong (關公), the deified general Guan Yu, and the largest of its kind in the city. It was established by devotees of Shanxiu Hall (善修堂) in North District in 1949 and the main hall was consecrated in 1952. Construction of a six-storey rear hall began in 1980 under the second chairman, Tsai Qirui (蔡奇瑞), apparently the same Taichung industrialist who built the Xingao Building nearby. It is crowned by a seated figure of Guangong roughly 44 meters tall, completed in 1984 and the largest such statue in central Taiwan. The rear hall stacks 17 shrines across its floors, each level given over to a different set of deities.
