Taichung Xingao Building

A ten-storey mixed-use building beside the railway line in East Taichung next to the former Fuxing Bridge. Ground was broken in November 1968 and construction finished in February 1971 for the Taichung industrialist Tsai Qirui (蔡奇瑞), with a supermarket and parking in the basement, apartments on the lower seven floors, and the Xingao Hotel (新高大飯店) on the top three. The hotel is long gone and the exterior now looks derelict, but the building remains occupied, its entrances under access control.
