Dajia

Dàjiǎ (大甲) is a district in northwestern Taichung, originally the territory of the Taokas Indigenous people. The district is best known for the annual Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage (大甲媽祖遶境進香), one of the world’s largest religious processions, centered on Jenn Lann Temple (鎮瀾宮). The heritage-listed Rinan Railway Station (日南車站), a wooden station from 1922, serves the coastal railway line north of the Da’an River.
