Dà’ān (大安) is a coastal district in northwestern Taichung between the Dajia and Da’an Rivers. Named after its former harbor, Da’an Port (大安港) was an important point of exchange for central Taiwan during the Qing dynasty era before silting rendered it unusable; the old settlement survives as Haiqian Old Street (海墘老街).
