Construction on this unusual ten-story Baroque skyscraper began in 2010 and soon attracted considerable public attention for its ornate exterior. It is a project by Xiao Fuwang (蕭輔旺), a local businessman with an appreciation for classical European art. Over the years it earned many nicknames in the popular press, for example Taoyuan Baroque (桃園巴洛克), Taoyuan Castlevania (桃園惡魔城), and Taoyuan Strange House (桃園怪怪屋).
