Lóngtán (龍潭) is an inland district of Taoyuan with significant militar presence as it is home to the headquarters of the Republic of China Army. Longtan is known for an eponymous manmade lake featuring Nantian Temple, established in 1972 on an artificial island in the historic pond. Traces of Japanese colonial era infrastructure can also be found in the form of Longtan Martial Arts Hall, which was completed in 1930.
