A derelict church in the hills of rural Tainan.

A small abandoned church in a small town in the village of Zhaoxing (照興) in Nanxi, Tainan. Presbyterian missionary work began here in 1954 and the church was established in 1956. In 1973 the much larger Nanxi Presbyterian Church (楠西教會) was completed on the opposite side of Zengwen River from the original church. Presumably it closed down sometime after the congregation relocated to the new church. Beyond that not much is known about this site. It is locked up tight as of 2025.

A closer look at the façade reveals three characters that can still be read.
