A Presbyterian church in central Yuanli, tracing its origins to a preaching hall opened in 1912 by an evangelist from the Dajia congregation. The present chapel was rebuilt after the 1935 Hsinchu-Taichung Earthquake, funded by the parishioner Zhou Huaigong (周懷恭) and completed in 1937, and the congregation became an independent church in 1939.
