A wooded valley at Jiangzailiao (羗仔寮) in Dongshan, Tainan, where water diverted from the Zengwen River (曾文溪) emerges from the 4 kilometer Wushanling Tunnel (烏山嶺隧道), driven under the ridge by Yoichi Hatta (八田與一) to keep Wushantou Reservoir (烏山頭水庫) supplied for the Chianan Irrigation System (嘉南大圳). Casuarina groves along the banks account for the Swiss comparison, but the main point of interest is at the lower end, where an earth dam feeds an underground culvert dropping to Youzikeng Creek (柚子坑溪); a whirlpool turns over the intake and water jets from a vent partway down the slope, making it a minor tourist attraction.
