A 1938 modernist market building originally known as the Nantou Township Consumer Market (南投街消費市場) in Nantou City. Its mixed-use design combining ground-floor shops with upper-floor residences represented an early departure from traditional open-air market layouts in Taiwan. Although still in use today much of the original structure is obscured from view, particularly on the inward facing side of the market building.
