Established in 1827, this is the ancestral home of Taiwan’s first imperial scholar, hence the plaque reading jinshidi (進士第) over the entrance. It was in seriously rough condition heading into the 2010s but a comprehensive restoration project completed in 2023, restoring the old home to something of its former glory.
