One of several former residences of the Zheng family along this street outside the old north gate of Hsinchu, this one dating back to the late 1840s. It was built by Zheng Wenbu (鄭文哺), a cousin of the imperial scholar Zheng Yongxi, with three halls and two courtyards. As with the others this was recognized for its heritage value but the condition of the building is extremely poor, with the roof of the front hall collapsed, and it will likely need to be rebuilt from the foundation.
