Dongshi Railway Station (東勢車站) was the terminus of the Dongshi Line (東勢線), a branch line running from Fengyuan to Dongshi in rural Taichung. The line opened on January 12, 1959, as one of Taiwan’s six major construction projects of 1958, and was decommissioned on September 1, 1991. The station was designed by Xiu Zelan (修澤蘭), widely regarded as Taiwan’s first female architect. The station building has since been converted into Dongshi Hakka Cultural Park (東勢客家文化園區), though its exterior has been significantly altered from the original design. The former railway corridor is now the popular Dongfeng Bicycle Greenway (東豐自行車綠廊).
