A former station on the Luodong Forest Railway Line (羅東森林鐵道) leading to Taipingshan. It was inaugurated in 1926 and out of service by 1979. After a long period of abandonment it was almost completely rebuilt in the early 2000s as a cultural relics museum, but has seen few visitors. After becoming something of a “mosquito hall”, another attempt at revitalization is taking place in the mid-2020s.
The rebuilt station house in 2020. It was not open at that time.
A reproduction of a schedule dating back to when this was an active train station.
Some old trains and a pile of lumber are displayed in front of the old station.
I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet. This project was founded in the early 2010s and has evolved into a sort of personal Wikipedia of places that interest me (and often the photographs I’ve taken there). I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
