An archaeology museum on the left bank of the Tamsui River in Bali, New Taipei, built to present finds from the adjacent Shihsanhang Site (十三行遺址), an Iron Age settlement. The site was nearly lost in 1989 to the planned Bali Sewage Treatment Plant (八里污水處理廠), but about 3,100 square meters were preserved in 1992, and the museum opened on land ceded by the plant in 2003 as the first municipal archaeology museum in Taiwan. Its angular fair-faced concrete buildings, including a tilted octagonal tower meant to evoke a ruin, won the Taiwan Architecture Award in 2002.
