A Japanese colonial era funeral hall rebuilt after the war and in operation from 1950 until 1965, when it was replaced by the Taipei First Funeral Parlor. It was famously involved in the White Terror and the bodies of many of the victims of political persecution in Taiwan passed through here. The former site of the funeral home is now occupied by the Chang’an Pumping Station (長安抽水站).
