A black-tiled Western-style residence built in 1953 to house American military personnel and officials of the Sino-American Joint Commission on Rural Reconstruction (農復會) during the period of direct US-ROC cooperation. Like the nearby USAID Dormitories on Chang’an East Road, the building style is blends American suburban housing style with local characteristics. It is still in use as government housing, though it was listed as a historic building in 2015.
