A modern cinema on floors 3 through 5 of Shin Shin Department Store (欣欣百貨), a five-storey building on Linsen North Road that opened in 1972. A theater first appeared here in 1979. Liao Zhide (廖治德), former operator of Banqiao Theater (板橋大戲院), acquired the theater in 2002 and reopened it as Shin Shin Jinghua Theater (欣欣晶華戲院), which later became the founding location of Showtime Cinemas (秀泰影城). The chain expanded from here to become Taiwan’s second largest after Vieshow (威秀影城).
