This mansion was completed in 1925 and became the foreign consulate of the United States in Taiwan under Japanese rule. After the war it was used as the residence of the US Ambassador to Taiwan until 1979 when the US military withdrew from Taiwan. Since 2002 it has been repurposed as an arthouse theater, SPOT (光點台北).
