Yu Youren Tomb (于右任墓) - Spectral Codex

The hillside tomb of Yu Youren (于右任, 1879–1964), a late-Qing juren (舉人) who became a founding figure of the Republic of China, a revolutionary, newspaperman, poet, and one of the most celebrated calligraphers of his era. He served as President of the Control Yuan (監察院) from 1931 and oversaw its move to Taiwan with the Nationalist government in 1949. After his death in 1964 his elaborate tomb was built on a hillside in Yangmingshan National Park facing the northwest coast in 1965. The tomb takes the form of a large three-tiered mausoleum built into the slope with an entrance flanked by ten meter-tall huabiao (華表) columns. Stone memorial archways, a spirit-path stele, and the hexagonal Yangzhi Pavilion (仰止亭) line the ascent to the domed burial chamber. It was designated a municipal monument in 2012 and restored in 2017.
