Located within Yuyi Garden (羽衣園), the former private estate of coal mining magnate Yamamoto Yoshinobu (山本義信). The Li Jianxing (李建興) brothers later purchased the garden from Taiwan Industrial and Mining Corporation and presented it to Chiang Kai-shek as a presidential retreat. It remains in the hands of the Taipei City government and continues to serve as a guesthouse for visiting dignitaries on occasion.
