The foremost temple venerating Lord Guangze (廣澤尊王) in Taiwan. It was originally established in 1662 by General Chen Yonghua (陳永華), who was later deified and also enshrined in this temple. An incinerator in the forecourt is crowned by the head of a mythical leviathan (鰲) in reference to a chengyu, or Chinese idiom, “perched on top of the sea monster’s head” (鰲頭獨占).
