Tainan Liuhejing Magong Temple (府城六合境馬公廟) - Spectral Codex

A modest green-roofed temple whose origins are lost in the mists of time, though it has long been regarded as one of the seven temples and eight shrines (七寺八廟) of historic Tainan. It was rebuilt in 1777 and has been renovated several times since then, most recently in 1970 when the current structure was built. The exact identity of Lord Magong (馬公爺) is subject to scholarly debate. Formally known as General Fùshùn (輔順將軍), he is typically identified as Mǎ Rén (馬仁), one of the four great generals serving Kāizhāng Shèngwáng (開漳聖王), but some accounts suggest the temple also honours Mǎ Xìn (馬信), a military commander under Koxinga. It was most recently restored between 2018 and 2020.
