The earliest documented Lady Linshui temple in Taiwan, first recorded in a 1740 gazetteer and founded by Fuzhou immigrants to Tainan. Although Lady Linshui is in the name of the temple she has plenty of company; the main altar is actually to the Three Ladies (三奶夫人), attended by thirty-six Matron Spirits (三十六婆姐) who preside over rituals related to childbirth and the protection of children.
