A Taipower line maintenance station at the 4.5 kilometer mark of the Nenggao Crossing Trail (能高越嶺道) in Ren’ai, Nantou. It occupies the former site of a Japanese colonial era police garrison, likely known as Onoe (尾上), at approximately 2,360 meters elevation. This garrison was completed in 1931 after its predecessor one kilometer east of here was torched during the upheaval of the Wushe Incident (霧社事件). In ht post-war era the building housed crews maintaining the east-west transmission line strung across the Central Mountain Range in the 1950s; its interior has been retiled and fitted with aluminum doors, but the exterior keeps much of its original form. The line stopped carrying power in 2016, and the clearing in front of the station now serves hikers as a rest stop and campsite.
