Taiwan World Expo Pavilion (新竹世博台灣館) - Spectral Codex

This structure was formerly the Taiwan Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo in 2010. Hsinchu City purchased the structure and it was reassembled here in subsequent years, opening to the public from 2013 to 2016. After it shut down it became a notorious haunt for urban explorers due to its dilapidated condition and dramatic design. By the early 2020s it was converted into the Hsinchu Children’s Discovery Center (新竹市兒童探索館).

I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet. This project was founded in the early 2010s and has evolved into a sort of personal Wikipedia of places that interest me (and often the photographs I’ve taken there). I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
