Established in 1946 for army personnel and their families in newly vacated residences formerly occupied by Japanese police in Hsinchu. The village was depopulated in the 2000s and demolished around 2010. It originally occupied plots of land on either side of Dongda Road (東大路) but the north side was the last to be demolished.
