Initially this was a film set for film and television at the back of a lot owned by Central Motion Picture Corporation, but as of 1975 it opened to visitors as a amusement park nestled into the hills of Shilin, Taipei. It closed indefinitely in 2008 and has only occasionally been used for film shoots since then. For a time it was a popular destination for urban explorers, but in the 2020s many of the buildings have been demolished, leaving only the main gate and a few other structures. It is not open to the public as of 2024.
