Juji Segment Bunker (聚吉段碉堡) is one of many small bunkers still left in Hsinchu City. Based on the design it was likely built in the early post-war era, but precise records are elusive. Previously it was situated on an open plot of land but more recently the area was redeveloped into a parking lot.
The entrance to an old bunker before the area was paved and transformed into a parking lot.
I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet. This project was founded in the early 2010s and has evolved into a sort of personal Wikipedia of places that interest me (and often the photographs I’ve taken there). I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
