A large temple complex in urban Hsinchu City venerating Yuhuang Dadi (玉皇大帝), the Jade Emperor. It traces its origins back to 1851, when a temple was built near Hsinchu East Gate, and it moved to the present site in 1870 before being rebuilt in 1913. A popular saying counts it among the three and a half great temples to the Jade Emperor in Taiwan.
