From archival photos we know a Shinto shrine was built on the north side of the juvenile prison (新竹刑務所) in Hsinchu, then known as Shinchiku, in May 1937. It was classified as an institutional shrine (構內社) of the prison. Not too much else is known about the site and whether any traces remain.
