A sprawling complex of tunnels and fortifications constructed beneath what is now Yilan County No. 1 Public Cemetery (員山鄉第一公墓) in Yuanshan, Yilan County, by the Imperial Japanese Army in 1943. Although it was never completed and did not see any action in the war, it was intended for use in the defense of Yilan, particularly in the event of an Allied landing.
There are several facilities and different access points scattered throughout the eastern part of the cemetery. Exercise caution when exploring the tunnels; they are very extensive, easily reaching several kilometers in length, and not always safe to enter. Beware bats and other hazards!
Warning: this location is abandoned, hazardous, or otherwise neglected and may be unsafe and even dangerous! Exercise appropriate precautions when visiting.
警告:此處已廢棄或長期無人管理,可能存在潛在危險。造訪時請務必提高警覺,並做好相關安全防護措施。
