A wooden office built in 1958 for the sawmill and timber yard of the Zhudong Forestry District, which had taken over the facilities Uematsu Timber (植松材木店) established here in 1940. It follows Japanese colonial era practice with a gabled roof of black tiles, wattle-and-daub walls, and large windows on all four sides, but its column spacing is laid out in metric rather than Japanese units. After logging declined it served as a laundry, co-op store, and dormitory for single employees before being restored, registered as a historic building in 2006, and opened as the Zhudong Forestry Exhibition Hall (竹東林業展示館). In 2025 it was registered as part of a historic building group together with the nearby Zhudong Forestry District Dormitories.
